South Africa Elections

South Africa’s fourth municipal elections since the end of apartheid take place today with opposition parties hoping to extend their control of local government while the ANC is particularly keen to re-establish control in the central regions. Jacob Zuma voted this morning in KwaZulu-Natal, currently controlled by the Inkatha Freedom Party. According to the South Africa paper, The Times, he stated that he was voting because he wanted to see change; to see improvements in roads and wider electricity coverage.
